newbie help please! cannot add editors in books

I cannot add editors in edited books. When I try to change the entry from author to editor (clicking on the triangle) there is not such a entry: here are the entries that appear (in Italian plus translation): Autore (Author) Collaboratore (Contributor, Collaborator),Addetto al montaggio (no idea what this stands for) Editor di produzioni a puntate (editor for serial production, the closest thing to a normal editor which however does not appear on bibliographies) and Traduttore (translator). I am surely overlooking something very easy, but I am not really managing to understand what this is. Any idea on how to get something as easy as this?:

Cusick J.G. 1998 (ed) Studies in Cultural Contact: Interaction, Culture Change, and Archaeology. Center for Archaeological Investigations, Southern Illinois University, Carbondale.
  • Addetto al montaggio is what you want. I can't speak to the quality of the Italian translation, but that's where it says "editor" in the English version.
  • that's great thanks for your help still what I get is this which is a little weird...

Crielaard, J.P., Stissi, V. & Wijngaarden, G.J. van cur., 1999. The Complex Past of Pottery: Production, Circulation and Consumption of Mycenaean and Greek Pottery (sixteenth to Early Fifth Centuries BC), Amsterdam: Gieben.

any idea why I get van cur. instead of (eds)?
thanks a lot for your precious help

  • you get cur. instead of (eds) because "curatore" is the Italian translation of "editor" - at least for Zotero purposes it is.
the van is part of the last author and the lack of parentheses is coded in the style.

See here for some more on this:

  • That said, no one is claiming that the italian translation is perfect. For the use of terms in citations see the list here:
    https://github.com/citation-style-language/locales/blob/master/locales-it-IT.xml
note that it's not even complete - if you would like to help substituting the terms that are still in English with Italian one - and possibly fixing wrong/unfortunate Italian translations that would help.
