SA 3.0b2 vs. FF version questions

I have been using the standalone version for about two weeks. I am enthusiastically pleased. I have a few questions about "best practices".

I still have the FF extension version and receive warnings about both dueling attention for the database. What are the benefits or consequences I remove the FF version and only use the stand-alone. Will the SA version continue to work within FF as it does with Chrome?

Now that there is a SA version, does it make sense to move the Zotero data directory outside of the FF application / profile directory and into a dedicated Zotero directory?

I am using Mac OS 10.7, Z 3.0.b2, FF 5.01
  • I've got a request / question. I've started using the standalone version and notice that I can't search through individual note panes. If, like me, you keep extensive notes it's useful to be able to search for a key-word and go directly to the section of your notes that you're looking for. (You could do this by opening the search function in Mozilla FF and then opening a Zotero tab, clicking in the notes pane you need and then running a FF search.)

It would be great if this search function could be brought to the standalone version - any plans for that to happen?

Running Zotero 3.0b2.1 on FF in Windows 7.
