Site-Wide Installation

I read an earlier post on this but haven't really been able to find a good solution. I want to install Zotero on all of the public computers in our academic library for all users on windows 7 PC's. Anyone been able to figure out a nice way to do this so that all users automatically see Zotero without having to install it?

This page says "Depending on the extension, each user may need to configure a globally-installed extension independently." Is zotero configured to allow this?

Anyway, you get my point. Any ideas?

    If you install Zotero into the global extensions directory, it should work just fine.

    As per the instructions on the site above, I placed the xpi file in the "<installation directory>\extensions" folder and restarted, expecting to have firefox ask me to install the extension. But nothing happened. Firefox started as it does every other time. No installation.

    I then ran:
    C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox>firefox -install-global-extension "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\extensions\zotero-2.1.10.xpi"

    Firefox started but didn't install the extension.

    Any ideas?

    Try installing Zotero normally. Then go to the extensions directory in your Firefox profile directory, and move the zotero@chnm.gmu.edu folder from there to C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\extensions.
