Blank screen

The Zotero icon doesn't appear in my status bar. When I try to load it from the Tools menu, just a blank pane shows up. There are no error messages or anything, just a blank pane.

Any ideas about what's going on?

I'm using Firefox 4.0.

Thanks, but the problem isn't so much the fact that there's no status bar icon, but that when I do access Zotero from the Tools menu, it's all blank.

have you disabled all other add-ons, themes and personas? That's the most common reason.

I need some add-ons besides Zotero. I removed *most* of my add-ons, and there's still no change. Anyway, the add-ons I now have are pretty insignificant ones and there's never been a conflict before with my add-ons and Zotero.

So what now?

We're not saying to stop using any add-ons. This is just how troubleshooting works. You have to verify that the problem exists still exists with all other add-ons removed or we can't help you further.

Note that you don't have to remove them. Disabling and restarting Firefox should do.

Yes, it did seem to be an add-on. I'm not sure which one, but I'm down to my personally essential ones and everything is working fine.

You could just re-enable them one by one.

And if/when you do find the add-on responsible be sure to post here so it can be tested and the list of incompatible add-ons can be updated...
