Imported folders in my folder tree

I am using Zotero accross different PCs and Laptops and my list of imported folders (e.g. named: "imported, Tuesday, January 25th, 2011 10:11:00 AM") in my folder tree is growing pretty long (over 5 every month)and this list is clothering up things.

What exactly is their function and what happens if I delete these?
Can I maybe set a folder in which they are to be placed in future?

Thanks
Kevin
  • are you transferring your data using import/export? That's not a good idea... that's what sync is for.
And yes, you can absolutely delete the collections - they're there in order for you to know which items you have just imported, but deleting the collection will _not_ delete the items it contains.
  • Hi Adam,

    Thanks for the reply.

No I am syncing through zotero and an additionl webdav service. So no manual stuff happening here.

Will just delete them in future when they pop up.

    Thanks
    Kevin
  • I'm not sure why you're saying "pop up". You realize that these just appear when you import a file ( RDF, RIS, BibTeX, etc.) into your library (or somebody else in a group library does)?
  • HA! Now I understand. No I did not realize that. I was thinking it has to do with the Sync.

Now I know what is going on.

    Thanks a million
