Transform Text to Title Case

Hello.

Is there anyway to automatically transform text to the title case? I am aware that there are hidden preferences (under about:config), and I've checked mine out. The capitalizeTitles says "True". A few of the citations I import have done so with lowercase titles. I have been able to simply right-click the title and then transform the text to title case, but is there any way to do this automatically?

Sorry if this has been already asked. I've scoured the archives for a while now, but have been unable to find an answer.

btw, I have the latest version of Zotero.

And while I'm at it, is there any hotkey for delete? Occasionally I'll load something in that I wish to just hit delete without bothering to right-click. Thanks!
  • many citation styles can (and do) automatically title case, but that's the only option to do this automatically for all entries right now.
Ctrl+Delete serves as a hotkey for delete from library (at least on Linux - on Mac/Windows it's one of the usual keys and delete - command, ctrl, opt, alt, maybe shift - if ctrl doesn't work try one of those).

Best practice is to keep the titles in Sentence case, since conversion to Title Case is a one-way street, and not all styles require Title Case. When you cite anything in a context that requires Title Case, it'll come out in Title Case even if you used Sentence case in your library.

But no, there's no way to automatically run the transform text option on all text as it comes in.
  • Okay. Thanks a lot. Both questions answered. :)
