Why aren't my notes tags syncing up with my notes online?


I am trying to figure out why the specific note tag attached to my notes does not work on the online Zotero version.

It works fine on my desktop, and all other tags work online.
  • Can you take screenshots of the items in both places, upload them somewhere (e.g., Dropbox or Google Drive), and provide a link here? And also provide the URL of the item in your web library?
  • The library this item is contained in is a private group.

    The notes are there on the web library version, but the tag is not linking up to the notes.

    You need to make those documents public. You can also email public links to support@zotero.org if you prefer. (We'll respond here either way.)

    And we still need the URL for the item online — it's fine that it's a private group.
  • The links are made public now.

    As for the URL, I am not sure which URL is needed. It's not any one item, but rather the tag is not connecting up with my notes
  • Ah, OK, so this is a tag only added to child notes. The web library doesn't show child notes in the items list at all, so you wouldn't see the child notes there. But arguably the parent item should still show up if a tag matches a child item, so we'll look into why that's not happening.

    (The workaround here would be to tag the parent item, of course.)
  • I see. That makes sense. Yes, I am sorry that I wasn't clear that it was a note-specific tag.

    I guess it caught me off guard since it works on the desktop version and does not work on the website version.
