recovery of a deleted collection

One a collection file containing several references has been deleted by error. Would it be possible to recover them?

You should be able to restore it from the last automatic backup. Specific instructions there for restoring a deleted collection.

(An upcoming version of Zotero will make it possible to restore a collection from the trash.)
