Starting Zotero AFTER writing document
Hello All,
So I just added Zotero and have the plugin for my Mac version of Word. How do I get Zotero to integrate with my existing reference structure. For example, when I attempted to add a new reference as an endnote, it began with the number 1 rather than continuing in the sequence that my Word document already contains.
My impression is that one would need to begin their work using Zotero. Is there an option for people like me who came late to the party?
And finally, how can I get Zotero to read or import my existing works cited page from the Word Doc?
Appreciate any help!

dstillmanedited March 24, 2021See Importing Formatted Bibliographies for getting data from your existing document into Zotero, but as noted there, you would need to reinsert all the existing references using the imported data if you want Zotero to be able to insert correct citations and a correct bibliography.
