Every time I try to insert a bibliography there is an error and it won't let me. Says I need a citation before I can put in a bibliography. I don't understand this; however I do have a citation entered.
Try in a new document. It's possible you did something in the old documents to make the existing citations no longer detected and will need to restore from a backup of the document.
