Workflow for inserting references into document?
I have just started authoring my first paper using zotero to manage my references. Collecting and managing papers is really convenient. Now I am wondering about the workflow for inserting individual references into my LaTeX manuscript. I would expect to simply copy the BibTeX identifier from zotero to paste it into my manuscript. Instead, the best I can find is to either construct the identifier manually and hope that I get it right or first export the .bib file and look up the actual identifier in the generated file.
What is the proposed workflow for this very common action of inserting a reference into a LaTeX manuscript?

NNemecThanks! Somehow I had considered this such a basic feature that I did not even think of checking for plugins...

dstillmanedited August 30, 2020Zotero isn't a BibTeX tool. Better BibTeX is. The BibTeX support in Zotero proper is purely for using BibTeX as a generic data exchange format similar to RIS. If you're using a BibTeX-based workflow, you want to be using BBT.
