Unable to sync - login information not accepted

Hi everyone,
I just installed Zotero on my new laptop and wanted to synchronize my library, but it keeps sending an error, stating my login information ("username or password") "haven't been accepted by the Zotero Sync Server".

First I was insecure whether I remembered the password right and reset it, but the problem repeats. I am able to log in online though, typing the same username and password.
I tried various times to restart Zotero and tried again to log in in the "Sync settings" menu, but the error keeps repeating.

    Start by updating to the latest version of Zotero from Help → Check for Updates. You're a few versions behind.

    If you're still having trouble, provide a Report ID from the new version.
