cannot open Zotero for days

A few days ago, Zotero unexpectedly quit and since then I haven't been able to open it again. I get the "the application Zotero can't be opened" error message, and "Zotero quit unexpectedly" error message, but nothing happens when I try to reopen it. Can someone help? Thanks!

Restart your computer, and if that doesn't help reinstall Zotero from the download page. Your data won't be affected.

I ended up downloading Zotero again and reinstalling it. That worked.
