dragging pdf between libraries

I want to drag references including pdf from my library into a group library. However it does not copy the pdf. I read in the documentation I I wanted to enable the option "automatically attach pdf when saving items".
But this option does not appear in my preferences general settings, thus I cannot check it.

The most common reason for this is that the group doesn't have file attachments enabled. Can you add a file to the group directly?

Thank you for the tip. I solved the problem. I think it was because the group library was (by error) defined as public. Now it's private and it works.
