Reference & Note from webpage selection

Is it possible to select text on a webpage (I use Safari/macOS) and save the document reference as well as a note from the selected text. I swear I did that once (using right-click contextual menu), but I just upgraded Zotero and no longer see this option.

(Apologies if this is well known; I'm new.)

It's still there. You should see "Create Zotero Item and Note from Selection" when you right-click on selected text on a webpage. (In Chrome and Firefox it's within one or two submenus, but in Safari it appears directly in the context menu.)
  • Yes, that was what I saw before. Further testing shows that this capability shows up on many/most webpages, but not all (for example, it seems to disappear when viewing a page from Gartner.com). Perhaps there is some web coding that can prevent/disable the copy?
  • Unlikely. But can you provide an example URL? It works fine for me on the Gartner home page.

Note that it won't appear if you're actually viewing a PDF rather than a webpage.
