Backing Up Zotero Library

I can no longer find the gear icon that is needed to access "preferences" and find the Zotero directory on my PC (per the Northwestern University instructions). Is there another way to locate those system files so I can back up to a separate harddrive?

Preferences are in the "Edit" menu in Zotero. The rest of the instructions are the same.
