Zotero is blank! Please help!

I opened up Zotero on my Mac yesterday and it was completely blank. No folders, no files, no nothing. All it says on the bottom left hand corner is "loading tags..." What should I do? I am working on my dissertation and it will take hours and hours to get this all back.

I followed the steps but when I click "preferences" nothing happens. Any other suggestions?

What preferences are you referring to?

The instructions said: Go to the Terminal menu and open Preferences. In Settings→Window, make sure Scrollback is set to “Limit to available memory”.

It is the Preferences option under the Zotero tab on the top left.

Right, that's Preferences in Terminal. It sounds like you're trying to go to Preferences in Zotero.
