short title strips quotation marks

In my style any subsequent occurence should display only the author and the short title. However, if the short title includes quotes, ie

"Das bin ich"

those are stripped. Can that be avoided?

    I'm seeing this too and it looks like a bug to me -- if that's an option, if you put the short title in single quotes it appears to work; don't ask me why.
    Edit: actually, do so smart quotes -- just straight double quotes seem to not work

    For the current purpose typographic quotes will work just fine. For the future this should be corrected, I guess.

    The strange thing is, if the quotes are not at the start of the short title field it works fine, including the final quote.
