Upgrade StorageZotero painfully slow
Have been using Zotero for a few weeks. At first it was great, fast, no problems. Now it is painfully slow.
Currently have about 5,000 items in my library, no full-texts, just abstracts (zotero library is about 500 mb, I have 400+ GB available on my computer). Recently tried to import 4,000 new entries and it took 18 hours and ultimately failed. Importing 700 entries took 3 hours. Deleting duplicates used to be lightning fast, now it is painfully slow. I am dealing with a large literature review and need to manage thousands of references. Does this program just not deal well with that? Or is there something I can do? Thank you.

5,000 items shouldn't be a problem — people have many multiples of that. Duplicate detection might be fairly slow at that size, though.
Do you have your database in the default location on your local hard drive?
If you close the tag selector in the bottom left, is it any better?
If not, can you provide a Debug ID for a specific operation that's slow (other than duplicate detection)?
