Unable to retieve metadata for pdf file

Hi, I am new user of this app zotero and finding difficult to retrieve metadata for pdf file (indexed article). Kindly help me out to resolve the problem at the earliest.

    Sorry, that doesn't really any of my questions. What type of PDF is it? Can you link to a copy online? What are you doing to retrieve metadata? What exactly is happening (error message, nothing happens, wrong metadata)?

    Maybe we have the same question, I'll try to explain my case. I imported some articles in .pdf directly from my computer or trough sci-hub page, for example. But the citation option doesnt work correctly with these files especifically. The citation appears like this:

    (“filename.pdf”, [s.d.])

    And the bibliography like this:

    filename.pdf. , [s.d.]. Availabe on: . Acessed in: 5 nov. 2017

    Why can I cite correctly pdf files?

    Which Zotero version are you using? You should be getting a dialog that tries to "retrieve metadata" when you import a PDF. Is that not appearing?
