In text citations issues

Various in text citations loose field status (not sure that's the right term) when selected while working on a document in Word. And, if a citation is added to new text near the front of the document, it seems to cause problems in downstream citations. E.g., a downstream citation that previously was a just a superscript 5, now becomes a superscript 56 (no space). Like it is adding them. If I click in the double citation, it shows the correct citation in the add/edit red lined rectangle.

Hope this makes sense --hard to describe.

Are you saving and closing the document at any point? What file format are you saving it as?

Also, what version of Word are you using? Mac or Windows? What specific version number (e.g., 15.41)?

Yes I close and open often. Been working on this grant for a month. Saved as as .docx --is that what you mean?

we've seen lots of weird behavior with the Word "Insider" editions for Mac and recommend you revert to the stable, 15.41 release. See e.g. https://forums.zotero.org/discussion/comment/297393/#Comment_297393
