Creating Bibliography in Word using office for Mac

After I cite a source using the Zotero app and then wish to create a bibli directly from that citation into bibli at the bottom of the word doc, as it the norm with the word tool. However this is not the case. What happens is the entire source for the bibli inserts itself into the actual text a line or two below the where the original citation is.

Has this happened to anyone else?

The bibliography is inserted at the location of the cursor when you click the "insert bibliography" button (and that makes sense -- the bibliography isn't always at the end of a document; there could e.g. be figures or an appendix after it)
