Upgrade StorageProblem insertin Citation to LibreOffice document

When clicking "Insert Citation" in a Libre Office document a window "Dokumenteigenschaften" (engl.: "Document properties") appears, with an empty field called "Zitierstil" (engl. "citation style") and no selection in the combo box "Sprache" (engl. "language"). After making a language selection and pressing the "Ok" button, the window closes and nothing more happens. Instead I would expect a field to be oppened, where I can input some search word (e.g. author name) for the citation, which I want to include in my text.
What can I do?
