Error connecting to server. Check your Internet connection.

I get this error when I try to sync with Zotero Standalone. I can't report the error, because when I try I get another error "invalid Response from Repository."

Any ideas?
  • I tried the suggestions there and so far no luck. I have included the Zotero.exe file as an exception in my security software, at least that software that I have control over. Other SW is managed by GPO, so I cannot change the settings.
  • Are you on behind a proxy of some type?
  • Not that I know of - I have no proxy settings in my browsers nor on my computer. We are NATted (in a 10.xxx.xxx.xxx IPv4 address range), but I never had problems before this with the firefox plugin, so I haven't used the standalone for sometime.
  • I tried it on another machine (running win 7 pro x64 instead of Win 10 Pro x64). The sync works. There are a few security programs on the win10 machine not on the win7 machine. I didn't have the standalone of Zotero on the win 7 machine, so I did not use it - I used the FF plugin.
