user interface language

I have problems changing the language of the Zotero Standalone user interface. Even though I have set everything on my computer to English, the user interface is in Japanese (I bought my computer in Japan with a Japanese Windows system but I have changed the user interface of Windows to English). Firefox and Chrome etc. are all set to English, too
  • Try the instructions for Zotero Standalone here:
    https://www.zotero.org/support/supported_languages
  • Thanks, I saw that. But I am not sure I understand this instruction:
    open Preferences→Advanced→Open about:config),

Where is the menu preferences? In Zotero Standalone? My interface is in Japanese and maybe that's why I have a hard time finding it?
But "about:config" looks like a firefox command. In firefox I have already met the settings as needed, but Zotero doesn't change. Interestingly, when I log into my zotero account online, the interface is also in English. Even after removing and reinstallign Zotero Standalone the interface remains in Japanese....
  • Maybe this will help to find the prefences:
    https://www.zotero.org/support/preferences

Because about:config is typically accessed via the Firefox url bar (which obviously isn't available for Standalone), there is a button that opens about:config in the advanced tab of the Zotero preferences.
  • Thanks, this helped. I didn't find the menu in my Japanese interface at first, but looking at the screenshots helped.
