Zotero 5.0-beta does not sync

Syncing on Zotero 5.0-beta.r28 stops with error message.
Exporting the library doesn't work either (Java script error).

Error report 1769144855 has been created.

    Could we also have Debug IDs for each error? (A sync attempt that produces the error and an export attempt, restarting Firefox between each one.)

    Export produces debug protocol id D909481056 (no error report),
    sync gives debug protocol id D1500238156 and error report 1043594283 respectively.

  • OK, thanks. Looks like the sync error you're getting can happen if an item was deleted on one computer and moved to the trash on another between syncs. We'll fix this, but in the meantime you can probably work around it by emptying the trash on all computers and then syncing.

    We'll look into the export error too. (Note that you shouldn't use export to get items between synced computers, if that's what you were trying, or else you'll end up with duplicates.)
  • Thanks a lot for the workaround. After deleting the trash on both the local computer and the server (via zotero.org) sync seems to work again.
    Exporting the library I just use to backup the database.

    (though it should still work)
  • The issue you were seeing with trashed/deleted items should now be fixed in the latest beta.
