Main window distorted after resolution change

I use Zotero desktop on my mac at home and when at work I plug it into a large external monitor. If Zotero happens to be open on my mac when I plug in the external monitor the window gets resized to fit but has a smaller window superimposed over it which can't be removed. It's easier to show here http://imgur.com/a/cAFbm The only way to fix it is to restart the program. If I unplug my external monitor and the window is redrawn on my mac then the resolution is way to big. It's hard to see in my screenshot, but you can see the text is 2 to 3 times the size of the other open windows. Is there anyway to get Zotero to redraw itself at the correct resolution without quitting and restarting?
