Note too long to sync

"The note '

<img src="data:image/png;base64,iVBORw0KGgoAAAA…' in your library is too long to sync to zotero.org.

"Shorten the note, or delete it and empty the Zotero trash, and then try syncing again."

How do I shorten the note?

Why is this happening? The image is a screen shot.

  • you don't give us much here, but typically this occurs when you have tried to paste images into notes. You should be able to find the note in question using a string that's part of the error message and then delete it, empty your Zotero trash, and syncing will work.

Yes, it's an image pasted into a note. Can't that be done? It would be good to be able to save selected screen shots.

I did delete it before, but that didn't work -- I guess because I didn't also empty the trash. Will try that now.
  • yeah, sorry, no way to have images in notes currently.
  • I emptied the Trash and apparently that worked. Thanks.

Images, esp. screen shots, would be good.
  • I just ran into the same issue regarding synching notes with embedded screenshots. Are there any plans to allow for notes with images in the sync process?

    Thanks!
  • It’s generally planned, but no ETA on when that will be available. Right now, there is no way to sync notes with images in them.
  • I noticed that my notes with embedded screenshots are no longer causing errors during the sync process. Does this mean embedded screenshots in Notes can now be synced? Thanks!
  • In the beta version, yes.
