Entries dissapeared from Zotero library, but still there in Word document

Hi there,

how can it happen that entries, which I cited in my word document some weeks ago and that still show there, appear to have dissapeared from my library? I did not delete those entries.

To illustrate:
In my word document, it says:
"brilliant argument brilliant argument brilliant argument, as brought forward by Author A (cf. work a, work b, work c)."
In my library, only work a is listed when I search for Author A.
I tried searching for the titles of the other works without success.
I'm quietly freaking out just know, unsure of what I did wrong and if this is a one-time-only occurence or if I cannot rely on my library anymore.
Thanks for your help!

Cheers,
Julia
  • have you worked on more than one computer on that document?
Could you press alt+F9 in Word (which will show a lot of code in the Word document) and copy the code for the reference in question here?
  • Hi, yes, I have worked on that document on more than one computer.
After pressing alt+F9 my document is now completely in ruins, code everywhere. Any ideas on reversing that? Thanks a lot!

Here is the code connected to that particular citation:

  • Press Alt+F9 again.
  • Well, that was easy and a little "Monday" of me. Thx.
  • My best bet would be that not all computers in question are fully synced -- either the one you added these citations on isn't uploading them or your current one isn't downloading them during sync.

The general article on that is at https://www.zotero.org/support/kb/changes_not_syncing

You could check if they are currently on the server by following the URIs in the code above:
    http://zotero.org/users/812241/items/UKH3XJD9
    http://zotero.org/users/812241/items/9XH55XX5
    http://zotero.org/users/812241/items/5EUHH7AW
    http://zotero.org/users/812241/items/MW28KRJ2
  • That must have been the problem as now all entries are available in the Zotero libraries on both laptop and work PC. Thank you very much!
