Zotero randomly modifies citations...must constantly use force-quit

Since the latest update, my citations have been randomly malfunctioning. Every som many citations, when I try to insert a footnote, I get a message from Zotero saying that I have modified this citation (though I have NOT); the prompt then asks for yes and no. It takes me back to the beginning of my document (MS Word for Mac 2011, OSX Yosemite 10.10.4), and attempts to modify ALL of my citations. I have to force quit to get out. This is very disturbing, as I have hundreds of citations and CANNOT afford to have my them altered. This has happened on occasion, but on a MAC it happens very frequently...It appears to me that Zotero is not for the MAC users? Please advise. This is a serious glitch in the program.

It's certainly meant for use on a Mac. Personally, I'm not a Mac user, so someone else will do the troubleshooting here, but would you be willing to share the document that is experiencing these issues? If so, please email it to support@zotero.org with a link to this thread.
