About to finish PhD and Zotero will NOT create bibliography from my PhD folder

So I have put all my references in Zotero (the firefox version, with firefox 37.0.2 / working on MAC) of my phd, into a nice folder with lots of subfolders (the total is about 500 items) and Zotero will NOT let me create the bibliography from the folder containing them all but yes from individual folders. I need it to create it from the parent folder. How to do this? Thank you

I would have assumed that you would have been much better off using the word processor plugins to only enumerate the literature that you cite within the work (how do you know that folder has everything you need and has nothing you didn't cite?).

However, it sounds like you're asking how to select the references in subcolections. That can be done with the recursiveCollections hidden preference:

Thank you it worked!!! I normally use Scrivener so I did not link up zotero...it got very messy
