Report ID: 93059272. An error has occurred. Please restart Zotero

Hi. Suddenly I am not able to access the data in zotero. Zotero opens and I can see the folder structure but when I click on an article I get the following error:
"An error has occurred. Please restart Zotero. You can report....."

Zotero and Firefox are up to date, and I've tried restarting the machine with no change.

The report ID reads:

Any ideas?
Thank you.
  • the location D:/Home/zSoftwareData on your computer -- is there anything unusual about it? Is it on a network drive? Or synced through some sync service?
  • It is backed up to one drive (microsoft). I turned off the sync, as well as restored previous versions of the database and still have the same issue. This started today and the previous versions of the database are a few days old, so not sure if the sync'ing is the issue.
  • and OneDrive sync is only with that computer, i.e. it's only an online backup? You're not also using it to sync with another computer?
I'm asking because there is odd stuff going on: your translator directory is corrupted, for example, with translators that should no longer exist. That's easy to fix, but it may well be an indicator of what's actually causing the problem (namely the "state check failed..." message).

Still - try resetting your translators from the advanced tab of the Zotero preferences, restart and see if that changes anything.
  • Thank you. That fixed it.
It only should go one way the sync. I'll look into this though.
