Style Request: [Journal of Peptide Science]

Dear all,

I am finishing writing a review for J. Pept. Sci. and... I realized that I cannot find the corresponding style.
Please, could someone create it? The requested information are below :

Campbell JL, Pedersen OK. The varieties of capitalism and hybrid success. Comparative Political Studies. 2007; 40: 307–332. DOI:10.1177/0010414006286542

Mares I. Firms and the welfare state: When, why, and how does social policy matter to employers? (Eds: Hall PA, Soskice D) Varieties of capitalism. The institutional foundations of comparative advantage, Oxford University Press, New York, 2001, pp. 184–213.

References should be cited by superior numbers in square brackets and listed at the end of the paper in the order in which they appear in the text.
The publication issue is in bold and the publication name is italicized

The ISSN of the journal : 1099-1387

Thank you very much!!!

All the very best,

  • That style should be very close to http://www.zotero.org/styles/american-chemical-society-with-titles-no-et-al . I will make an suitable adaption for it.

Do you know when the year should be bold? The examples in the style guide are inconsistent and the linked free pdf is not having any bold year in the bibliography.
  • Hi!

Thank you very much for having taking some time to have a look at my problem!
The year is never in bold in this style (I had a look on some other articles of this journal).

    All the very best,

    JM
  • The style is out now: https://www.zotero.org/styles/?q=Journal of Peptide Science . Please report any errors or other feedback here.
  • Hi!

Thank you 1000x times for having done such a good job!
Could you mak some modifications :
    1. References should be cited in the main text by numbers in square brackets;
    2. In the list of references, the numerous of the citations have to be without brackets.

Right now, I do not see any other errors.
I will let you now when I will get feedback from the editors!!

Thank you again! All the very best,

    JM
  • Okay, both issues should be fixed now. Update your style in zotero and maybe switch back-and-forth in word for taking the change. Any more feedback from you or the editors is welcome. Moreover, the editors can also give a link to the style in the repository, if they want.
  • Hi everyone,

I'm writing a paper for J. Pept. Sci. and I find that the reference style guidelines have changed.

    Could someone update it, please?

    Reference Style

References should be cited by superscript arabic numerals and listed at the end of the paper in the order in which they appear in the text. Authors should cite available published work. If necessary, cite unpublished or personal work in the text but do not include them in the references list. Journal titles should be italicized and abbreviated in accordance with the “Chemical Abstracts Service Source Index” (CASSI; no commas appear in the journal names).

Where possible the DOI for the reference should be included at the end of the reference. References should be listed in the following style:

    Journal:
[no.] Author1 AB, Author2 CD, Author3 EF, Title of Article. Abbrev. Journal Title. Year; Vol. no.(Issue no.): Page range.
[1] Burroughes JH, D. Bradley AD, Brown AR, Marks RN, Mackay K, Friend RH, Burn PL, Holmes AB, Light-emitting diodes based on conjugated polymers. Nature. 1990; 347: 539-555.

    Notes:
    • When more than 2 references are cited at a given place in the manuscript, use hyphens to join the first and last numbers of a closed series; use commas without space to separate other parts of a multiple citation.
    • The names of all authors should be given unless there are more than 6, in which case the names of the first 3 authors are used, followed by “et al.”
    • If each issue of a journal begins on page 1, the issue number must also be included in brackets directly after the volume number, e.g., 125(3). In other cases, the issue numbers should not be included (and should be deleted if they are present)

    Citations
    • Reference citations appear as superscript arabic numerals throughout the manuscript. The citation always comes directly after any punctuation (no space). References should be cited in numerical order, for example, “…1,2” means references 1 and 2, “…3−5” means references 3, 4, and 5. If there is a reference citation in the running text, it should be formatted as follows, with no space between the citation and the preceding word: “Smith and co-workers89 have shown that...”
