Where does zotfile store the links to the PDF files?

Hi,
I have zotfile set with a custom location for PDF files.
I noticed that the PDF files are indeed gone from zotero's storage folder but there are no file links instead.
Where does zotfile hold the list of links and is there a way to access/ edit it?
