Hi,

I just installed Zotero 4.0.22 as xpi as well as standalone to Linux Mint 13, configured sync and always get NAME_TOO_LONG error. Syncing from two other Windows machines works without any error.

Any ideas?

I'm guessing you have filesystem encryption enabled (e.g., eCryptfs)? That imposes a lower filename length limit that can cause some problems during syncing.

I've made some changes to our filename-shortening code that should better deal with this. I want to do some additional testing, but I'll have a beta version you can try later today.
