Allow editing fields of multiple entries

If you try to fix up things after a bad import (e.g. if you have "lang:English" as value in your Language field), you have to fix all your entries one by one.
There exists software with a much more clever interface that allows to change the value of the same field in multiple entries at once, while keeping other fields untouched.
For example then editing "Properties" of audio files in foobar2000 (GPL). I have a screensshot ready if anybody wants to see what I'm talking about...

You're misinterpreting that. That's just a ticket we created when we first launched Zotero, because batch editing is obviously a feature that would be good to have. But there've been a huge number of important features over the years, and this one just hasn't happened yet. Nothing amazing about it.

It is planned for the relatively near future, though.

FWIW, while no one believes this to be an actual solution, if you don't mind some very light coding, you can use the javascript API for batch editing:
