Zotero is offline.

Help. I barely know what I am doing here. I have a Mac and am operating with Safari.

I just downloaded Zotero Standalone and finally figured out how to get the "Z" icon up on the toolbar - the z of course has a diagonal line through it and when I click on it I am informed that "zotero is offline."

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

YOu will also need to download the Safari connector from the same page where you downloaded the Z standalone. If you already have done so, please provide more information so that someone can offer more help.

I did that earlier (a friend told me to do that). However, that doesn't seem to have made much difference.

Actually, in one of these forums I read to activate Zotero first and than safari, which I did. That did in fact make make the Z icon go online - but that still seems to have made little difference.

There are still no icons appearing at the end of the browser. I tried accessing a book on amazon and there was still nothing.

There's no URL bar icon in Safari. You just save by clicking on the Zotero toolbar icon, when it's active for a page.

I clicked on the Zotero toolbar icon (using an amazon record) but it still doesn't s seem to be doing anything. Am I missing a step?

I have the same problem, and would be interested in how to fix this. Restarted, re-installed, etc. everything.....but nothing works. The icon remains grey and not working in Safari.
To the programmers: you may want to create a help page for mac users using Safari....

I have been using Zotero for a couple of years without a problem, today it decided not work at all and I have no idea why.
The Z icon has disappeared.
I have not install any firefox updates recently (yesterday I was able to use it).
If anyone could help me I would very much appreciate it!!!!
