Style Request: Phyllomedusa

Hello,

I would like to request the citation style of the journal Phyllomedusa (http://www.phyllomedusa.esalq.usp.br/index.php). I searched for similar styles and was unable to find anything.

In text citations are as follows:
Single author: (Smith 2000)
Two authors: (Smith and Johnson 2000)
Three or more authors: (Smith et al. 2000) - the "et al." is in italics.

References: There is a space between the initials of the first and middle names of the authors. e.g. Smith, A. W.

Journal Articles: The title of the journal is NOT abbreviated and is in italics along with the volume and the colon after the volume number.

Chapter in edited book: The "in" before the editor name is in italics and the title of the book is in italics. Pages are denoted by "Pp." with the first being capitalized and the second lowercase.

I searched for similar styles and was unable to find anything.
not sure I understand. If you use
    http://editor.citationstyles.org/searchByExample/
It will most definitely give you styles that match reasonably closely (note that you cannot just paste sample references - you need to adjust the _existing_ citations - the ones described by the data on the left - to match the citation you want.

You can also look through other "phyllo..." styles manually and see if there's a close fit.
  • My apologies, I used it incorrectly.

I searched for the two author journal article and the closest was Limnology and Oceanography. The only difference in the citation style bibliography for Phyllomedusa is that the volume number and colon is italicized, not in bold. The inline citation is a perfect match.

I searched for a book chapter and the closest was Limnology and Oceanography. The inline style was a perfect match. The differences in the bibliography style was in Phyllomedusa the page numbers are designated as "Pp." as compared to "p." in Limnology and Oceanography. There is a period at the end of the chapter title in Phyllomedusa vs. a comma in Limnology and Oceanography. The editor label in Phyllomedusa uses parentheses e.g. "(eds.)" vs brackets in Limnology and Oceanography e.g. "[eds.]". The title of the book is in italics in Phyllomedusa where in Limnology and Oceanography is it not italicized. Also, the city of publication is included in Phyllomedusa (after the title of the book and ends with a period e.g. "New York.") where it is absent in Limnology and Oceanography.

I searched for a book and the closest match was Antarctic Science. The inline style was a perfect match. There were several differences in the bibliography style. Any additional authors beyond the first author have their initial before their last name with a space between their first and middle initial e.g. "A. W. Smith". The last author has an "and" before their first initial not "&". The place of publication and publisher are separated with a period, not a colon, e.g. "New York. Oxford University Press." Also, the publisher has a period at the end before the page numbers are listed e.g. "Oxford University Press. 438 pp."
  • great. Will take a little, but looks like the Limnology style is pretty close.
  • Great! Thanks so much! Please let me know if you have any additional questions.
  • The style is now up. It will appear on the style repository within 30mins.. (See here if you need instructions for installing styles in standalone.)

Any problems please let us know.
