entering a new search in the search bar in the tags pane unselects previously selected tags

Recently I can no longer select two tags at the same time in the way I did it before. Specifically, if I go to the tags pane on the left, type in a tag in the search bar on the bottom, select it (the middle pane then updates, showing only items with the relevant tag), delete the previous search, and start typing a new one, then the previous tag gets unselected as soon as I start typing.

I'm using Zotero 4.0.4 with Firefox 20.0 in Mac OS X Lion.


edit: A second related bug I just found is that when you've selected a tag, then enter stuff into the search bar for the middle pane to further narrow down the list, once you've entered in something that has no results with the tag, it unselects the tag and continues the search without it.
