Style Request: [journal of experimental zoology]

This is quite an important biology journal that is absent from your vast citation style repository. I, and many other biologist colleagues that have turned to Zotero as a central tool in their activities, would be grateful if this style would be created and made available to the community.
thanks for everything

in particular, use the "search by example tool"
    http://editor.citationstyles.org/searchByExample/
and let us know which style is most similar - there may even be a perfect match already.
  • Dear Adam

Thank you for your prompt reply. Following your instructions the closest style I could find was
    http://www.zotero.org/styles/the-journal-of-comparative-neurology

Yet, it is not quite the same, particularly since JEZ introduced an idiotic style, where XXth century citations are show in the text as (Me and you. '98). If they are XXIth century then they are (me and you, 2001).
I hope this can bne easily created by modifying this existing script.

    Thank you for your help,

  • we can't currently do that - I'm not sure we'll bother including it in CSL as an option in the future as it is, as you note quite correctly, rather moronic.
My best recommendation would be to use search and replace in the end.
Are there any other differences to the JCN that you have found?
  • Dear Adam
Thank you for your trouble. I will do as you suggest and do the changes by hand...
    best,

  • The style for the J exp zool is now up minus the year abbreviation feature which, as noted above, can't be done.
  • Thanks Adam. All the best.
