Number ' 1. ' appears before each citation

Hello,
I'm using v.2.1.10. I'm using Chicago Manual of Style (Without Biblio) to write a book. I copy my citations from zotero in Firefox using the clipboard. When I paste them into my document, there is always a '1.' before the citation, which is really frustrating. What is causing this 1. to appear? Any ideas?

it might be that it's a problem created by the fact that the style doesn't have a bibliography.
Try one of the styles with bibliography. If you need the citation, drag&drop while holding shift.
