New citation style to be uploaded - University of Bologna, Lettere e Filosofia

Hi,

I just created a new citation style for the University of Bologna, Liberal Arts college (Lettere e Filosofia), and it should be valid for all humanities in Italy. Now I can get back to writing my thesis. :)

Please upload to style repository, the csl link is here: https://gist.github.com/1003771

Thanks,
Sasa

Great, it's almost perfect - two things:
you can only have one summary line - just put both English and Italian in there.
    l. 57 isn't valid - you can't nest a cs:term in the cs:name node. (Remember to validate your styles:
    http://www.zotero.org/support/dev/citation_styles#validation

While you're here - would you consider finalizing and checking the translation of the locale file in Italian?
    https://github.com/citation-style-language/locales/blob/master/locales-it-IT.xml
Just download it - fix/translate what needs translating and upload it to a public gist. All abbreviations should by default have a period - the period can be removed using strip-period=true in the style.

For adamsmith's request about the CSL locale file, see also the translation instructions at https://github.com/citation-style-language/locales/wiki (assuming you're interested in doing this)
  • Thanks for the suggestions, I edited it, and validated it in Oxygen and validator.nu, it says it's all peaches now. hopefully it is. :)

As for the italian, I'll get down to it in the following days/weeks, when I find the time.

I would just like to add that, even with the italian localization finished, I will still have to use the terms as set in the style, because, well, UniBo's terms are a bit more precise than those set out in the CSL. For example, CSL sets a term for "ibid", but UniBo actually says that, when the citation is exactly the same as the previous, "ivi" should be used (means "there"), and when it's the same but different page, "ibidem" with the page numbers should be used. It also sets out rules for when the publishing place is unknown ("s.l."), which doesn't exist in CSL, so I didn't implement it here.
  • it's up - thanks!
  • Help, there is an error in university of Bologna style.
Hi, i'm doing my thesis using this style, it's very usefull but have 3 errors:
    1. when i make a citation of the same book same page it use ivi (italic). it have to be Ibidem (Italic)
    2. when i make a citation of the same book different page it use Ibidem (Italic). It have to be Ivi (Roman)
    You can correct this?
When I upload the corrections my files automatically changes or i have to do manual??
  • (please don't double-post)
Ideally, get in touch with the style author (listed in the style code), we don't have much time to fix university specific styles. If s/he doesn't respond we can help you make those changes. Once the style is changed in your local version of ZOtero (which updates automatically from the repository), yes, this will fix things automatically, although you may have to change to a different style and back in an existing document.
  • I can't find the author's mail, by the way this style is the only one of humanities in italian, so is useful to all the italian speakers in humanities.
    Thanks
  • e-mail is here:
    https://github.com/citation-style-language/styles/blob/master/universita-di-bologna-lettere.csl#L11
  • The style author's never replyes me.
Can you help me to correct the error?
    Thankyou very much

    1. edit the line 580 to form="long"
    2. edit the line 575 to form="short" and remove font-style="italic"
  • "1. edit the line 580 to form="long"
    2. edit the line 575 to form="short" and remove font-style="italic"
