Help. My library is duplicated after syncing

Do duplicates have to be merged pair by pair? Virtually my entire library is duplicated. What is the best way to resolve this?

    Syncing doesn't generate duplicates. You'd get duplicates if you exported and imported the same library onto the same machine or onto different synced machines. You can usually fix it by sorting the items list by Date Added and deleting an entire set of imported items, which will all be clustered together.
