Feature Requests: Reading Mode

First off, I love the new Reading Mode!

I wanted to share a few feedback points on features currently missing in Reading Mode compared to the standard PDF viewer.


On the Android App (v1.0.0-247):
Reading Mode remains in light mode even when system or app dark mode is active.

Text highlighting is currently not functional within Reading Mode.

There are no settings or controls to adjust text displaying like on desktop.

Internal links (such as citations) are missing or non-clickable in Reading Mode.

Toggling into Reading Mode resets the scroll position back to the top of the text rather than maintaining the current viewing position.

Header and footer elements (e. g. titles and page numbers) are not filtered out in the reflowed text like on desktop.


On Desktop:
Hovering over citations to peek at references works in the standard PDF viewer, but this preview feature is not yet available in Reading Mode. Instead you can only click to jump down.

The Reading Mode on Android and iOS is still a very basic view that will be replaced with something closer to the new desktop Reading Mode, so feature requests for that aren't necessary.

We'll try to support the smart reference popup in a future version of the desktop Reading Mode.
