I’m using 10.0-beta.22+4ec5ba9c2 (64-bit) on a Windows 11 Pro PC. I discovered a bug wherein the Read Aloud tool abruptly stops whenever it encounters an ellipses (…) after a period. For example, reading this text:

    > Spare is a sorcerer and a shamanic artist- He attempts to represent the occult, the hidden, the unseen, to illustrate the unseeable, to portray sensations and subconscious energies. …The shaman is a person who deliberately remains in a perpetual spiritual crisis and this can sometimes conflict with his earthly needs.

This seems to occur within quotes where the ellipses represents omitted text. When the tool reaches this point it stops stating “An unknown error occurred.” It shows a Retry option, but clicking it results in the same error.

Edit: One additional thing I noticed. Read Aloud only seems to stop at an ellipses preceded by a period. It runs just fine when other punctuation preceded the ellipses, such as a quotation mark, like this:

    > ‘portray sensations and subconscious energies.’ …The shaman is a person who…

Edit: I submitted the error with debug ids: D1759495307 and D1551128539 and 2027487764
