Laggy drawing with freehand tool in Zotero 9
Hi everyone,
I am using Zotero 9 on a MacBook with an Apple M2 chip. I frequently use the PDF reader to take notes and annotate documents. I kind of like using freehand drawing with my mouse. However, I am experiencing a significant lag while drawing lines. The lines do not look smooth, and there is a noticeable delay between my input and the actual drawing on the screen. When I open PDF's in new window rather than new tab, it gives better performance but still happens after ten minutes later. When I change the color of PDF background, it also draws smoothly for some time. Zotero Web is great at that point, drawings are so cool but I do not have the internet connection all the time. I wonder that whether there is any solution. Thanks.

jakobheibelI have the same issue on my Framework 12 Laptop (i5, 32 GB RAM), running Linux Fedora 44: The freehand drawing feature is basically unusable in Zotero. Interestingly, when I use Zotero on my iPad 7, drawing in PDFs works fast and flawlessly.
