unfiled items in group library not moving

Hello,
I have a group library with several thousand unfiled items on version 9.0.4. When I drag them to a folder, they start moving (or at least the total number of unfiled number goes down every time I click on it and the number of items in the folder goes up everytime I click on it). Then, eventually, it just reverts to the original number of files each the unfiled items and the folder. How can I move these items permanently? I have upped my memory already. I need them to be in one place for a systematic review. Thanks for any advice!

    Not really sure what you mean here. Unfiled Items contains items not in any collection. If you drag an item to a collection, the item should be added to that collection, and it should stay there unless you remove it. Are you saying that the items are being removed from the collections you're dragging them to?

    Yes, I drag them into a collection. The number of "unfiled" items goes down and the number in the collection goes up - which would indicate that they are moving. But a few minutes later I click and they are back to the original numbers as if nothing has moved.

    But forget about the numbers — are you saying the items appear in the collections you drag them to immediately after dragging and are no longer there a few minutes later?

    Can you provide a Debug ID for reproducing that?

    Thank you for your help! I did it again with the Debug ID Enabled. This time about half of the items were moved from Unfiled to the collection. D1761962220

    I just tried to move the remaining unfiled items into the collection and nothing happened. D1505942024
