Database name not captured when saving journal articles

I get lots of articles from databases like Gale, but Zotero is not capturing the database name. Is there a setting or something I can select so that always gets copied over? Alternatively, is there a field I could use for the database name that would get used when Zotero creates the bibliography? Thank you!
  • It doesn't get written to Library Catalog? It should. How exactly are you saving items?
  • When I use the connector with Gale Literature Resource Center, Zotero writes go.gale.com to Library Catalog and that is what goes in the bibliographic entry. If I use the download RIS option, then it works fine.

With Gale in Context High School and the connector, it captures only the title and URL with the item type id'ed as a Web page. Using the downloadRIS option works just fine. There appear to be a lot of inconsistencies between how the connector captures information from the varying resources.

Could you provide an example URL? And ideally email the item's snapshot to support@zotero.org along with a link to this thread. You can find the snapshot on disk by right-clicking the item and choosing Show File (macOS: Show in Finder).

You would need to email the snapshot, not post it here.

@amyelizabethfox: No need for the snapshot, actually. URL was enough.

This should be fixed. Your Zotero Connector should auto-update within a few minutes, or you can update translators manually from the Advanced pane of the Zotero settings.
  • Thank you so much! Will this change be made across the system? I am a high school librarian and many of my students use Zotero and they are running into this same issue.

Yes, this fix should be rolled out to everyone. Let us know if it still isn't working.
