Zotero 9 automatically title-cases manuscript title in APA7

Zotero 9.0.3.
Document is set APA 7th edition. Zotero library has an entry of type "Manuscript", title is entered in sentence case.
When a reference is inserted in the document, it is automatically converted to title case.
Can this be prevented, and/or could this be a bug?

Although I had searched for a while for a similar problem, only after posting the question stumbled upon https://forums.zotero.org/discussion/125979/journal-name-is-lowercase-is-there-a-way-to-force-this-in-zotero . The workaround with span works, which is great.
Given that this is APA style, could the auto-title-casing still be a bug?
