File Permissions Error

I've seen all the other posts and discussions regarding the file permissions error that can occur when transferring Zotero from one computer to another with OS. I did this data transfer at Apple using Migration Assistant. The permissions have been set to Read and Write, I have redownloaded Zotero, restarted my laptop and tried as much as I can using information online. Previous commenters seem to have figured it out somehow, but I'm not sure what my fix is.

    This isn't a problem in Zotero. Zotero, like any program, needs to be able to write to its own data folder. You need to make sure that your Zotero data directory and all files within are writable by your user account. You should be able to fix this, for Zotero or any other program, from the bottom of File → Get Info in Finder after selecting the relevant folder.

    If you really can't figure it out, you can run this line in Terminal and share the output, but we can't really provide general OS guidance here:

    ls -lad ~ && ls -la ~/Zotero
